Welcome To the Family, New Staff: September

By: Emma Boone, Jessica Cargin, and Giselle De Santiago
Hello Clovis West! I’m sure lately you have noticed some new faces on campus this year (and we are not talking about Freshmen). Clovis West High School has 20 new staff members this school year and it seems like the student body and staff members have given a great first impression.
Even teachers who used to work at some of our rival schools like Bullard and Clovis High have said they are looking forward to being part of our family.
While interviewing a few of the new teachers, we got excellent thoughts on how special and unique our student body is. “There are higher expectations here, better discipline, and conduct.” said Mrs. Adams, the new biology teacher.  "I think the students here are great; they're kind and respectful. They've been very accepting and welcoming," commented Mr. Kennedy.
The new staff also spoke about the current staff members with praise. "Amazing groups of people from the staff all the way to the student body. It has just been amazing," Mr. Kennedy declared later on in the interview. A new English teacher, Ms. Davis-Babb, used to work in an after school program at a middle school. She commented that “the staff here are very friendly and helpful. Since I’m new, it's nice when they are answering my questions or giving me help on lessons." Ms. Davis-Babb’s mentor, Mrs. Ferdinandsen has been teaching at Clovis West since 1991 and had nothing but kind words for the new teacher. “She is so comfortable at Clovis Westit’s like she’s been here forever. I love hanging out with her and I’m so happy she chose our school to use her talents.”
"I'm just proud to be a Clovis West Eagle," Mr. Kennedy said to conclude our interview.
If any of your teachers are new this year please welcome them to the family.
