Worldwide News: November

By: Kirsten Woodard

In New Zealand, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit, leaving a few cows stranded. Luckily, the cows were unharmed and rescued by their owner. He rejoined them with the other 14 of the herd.
In other developments, China has announced their plan to build a giant solar plant in an abandoned Ukrainian city. It was abandoned in 1986 and was inaccessible until now. China hopes the plant will power up to 150,000 homes. The purpose of the plan is to clean the country’s air, eliminating all carbon dioxide emissions by the year 2030 through their expansion of solar and wind power.
